University of Nairobi lecturer charged over Sh5,000 bribe from his student

A University of Nairobi lecturer was yesterday charged with corruptly requesting S 5,000 from his student to award him exam marks after he was found cheating in the last semester. Vincent Kathumo, who appeared before chief magistrate Francis Andayi, faces another count of receiving Sh3,000 bribe from the same student.

The court heard that on January 18,2017 at Upper Kabete Camp in Nairobi county the accused being a person employed in public service as a lecturer at University of Nairobi requested for Sh 5,000 bribe from Duncan Kibet as an inducement so as to award him exam marks after he was found cheating on exam during the last semester.
