This article covers the basic Linksys router configuration steps. The steps cover how to explicitly change the DNS settings in your router to use the OpenDNS IP addresses (184.108.40.206 and 220.127.116.11).
1. Visit the router’s IP address in a new browser windowhttp://192.168.1.1 is the default Linksys router IP address. Linksys support2. Enter the Network passwordThe “Enter Network Password” window will appear. Skip username and type the router’s password (admin is the default password if you haven’t changed it) and click the OK button.
3. Type in OpenDNS addresses in Static DNS 1 and Static DNS 2 fields.
Please write down your current DNS settings before switching to OpenDNS, in case you want to return to your old settings for any reason.
