IG Mutyambai Orders Investigations and action Into JKUAT Police Brutality

Inspector General Of Police Hillary Mutyambai has ordered investigations into the police brutality meted on Jommo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology Students.

Mutyambai wants investigations into the incident that happened when police were trying to restore order at JKUAT to be completed within 24 hours.

In a media statement, Mutyambai says that any police officer found culpable will be held accountable.

“Following the unfortunate incident, the Internal Affairs Unit has been directed to commence investigations and make recommendations for action within 24 hours. Any police officer found culpable will ibe held accountable,” said Mutyambai.

Video doing rounds on social media show brutal JKUAT officers clobbering the students who were allegedly protesting against rising insecurity in the area.

The students yesterday stated that two of their colleagues have been stabbed within a span of one week and several others lost their property.
