Businessman hospitalised after being shot in Kikuyu robbery

A businessman was admitted to hospital on Wednesday night after robbers shot and wounded his stomach and leg at Kikuyu Town.

A gang of three, who had been on the businessman’s trail, waylaid him as he was drove into his compound.

Police say the victim of the robbery resisted orders by the gunmen prompting a shooting.

The gang stole an unknown amount of cash and other valuables from their target before they escaped.

In a separate incident, a knife-wielding suspected criminal was shot dead following a botched robbery in Majengo slums, Nairobi.

The man is said to have been in the company of three others and had been robbing residents when police were alerted.

The residents had complained of sustained attacks by men armed with knives when the ambush was staged; the thugs’ body was moved to the mortuary.
