With the growing number of parks scattered across Qatar, there is no excuse not to enjoy the great outdoors this winter. There are sure to be at least a few parks in your vicinity. If you’re feeling especially ambitious, we challenge you to visit them all!
These beautiful green spaces offer a variety of activities everyone will love. From playgrounds and pedal boats to food festivals and barbeque stations, there’s something for everyone!
There are various sports facilities as well like running tracks, basketball courts, tennis courts, and more.
Al Bidda Park is perfect for pet owners and those who plan to barbeque, while Dahl Al Hamam Park is popular with skateboarders and for its free WiFi. Meanwhile, Aspire Park is popular for its man-made lake where kids and adults can indulge in water activities like pedal boating, walking ball, kayaking, paddleboarding, and water yoga.

Beachgoing is typically thought of as being a summer activity, but here in Qatar, winter is a great time to head for the shore. It’s the perfect place to spend quality time with the family. The kids will love rolling around in the sand. Some beaches on our list even have playgrounds! Pack a picnic and make a day of it. But don’t forget to bring home your trash or dispose of it properly!
For the more active beachgoers among us, Qatar offers a variety of water activities including swimming, kitesurfing, kiteboarding, fishing, jet-skiing, kayaking, scuba diving, and more.
3. Bring out your sporty side and try wall or rock climbing
If you haven’t tried wall climbing or rock climbing, then this season is a good time for you to try these activities. Who knows, you might come to love it! This sport is not just a workout but it also helps increase flexibility, strength, and brain function.
For wall climbing, head to Esqalar Sports Climbing Wall near Aspire Academy. Trial sessions are available so bring your kids or friends for a fun bonding activity.

4. Ride your way through winter on two wheels
Cycling is quickly becoming one of Qatar’s most popular outdoor activities, with a growing mountain bike scene too. For families and beginners, there are many parks to enjoy a leisurely ride. For experienced cyclists and bikers, more challenging and adrenaline-inducing terrain awaits in the desert. There’s no shortage of rugged mountain biking trails in Qatar. Cyclists can also practice at Losail Circuit Sports Club every Wednesday from 5 PM to 8:30 PM. Bike rentals cost QAR 50 for 75 minutes.
Do you love to skate? Grab those quad skates, rollerblades, skateboards, and head outside. You can skate at Dahl Al Hamam Park, Al Bidda Park, Hotel Park.

5. Go on a desert camping adventure
Winter is indeed the perfect time to camp out in the desert. You can go the do-it-yourself route if you have the necessary vehicle and equipment, or you can select from a variety of tour operators to assist with day, night, or overnight camping options. We recommend enjoying a beautiful desert sunset followed by tasty barbeque dinner at night, before finally retiring to a Bedouin-style tent.
